What could be better than escaping into the outdoors on a day colored by wintry mountain landscapes and brilliant blue skies? You can’t go wrong with over 50 kilometers of groomed trails accessed right from the edge of West Yellowstone, Montana. The town is also centrally located (within 2 hours) of some great downhill skiing as well at Bridger Bowl, Big Sky Resort and Targhee.
The Rendezvous Ski Trails offer great trails and scenery for skiers of all abilities, as well as a biathlon course. The pet-friendly Boundary Ski and Snowshoe Trail offers 7.9 kilometers of trail that parallels Yellowstone Park’s western border. Ski straight into Yellowstone National Park on the Riverside Trail, which glides along the Madison River where you can catch a glimpse of bald eagles soaring, frosty bison grazing, or trumpeter swans swimming by.
